Our Story
For 7 generations, our family has had the privilege to farm in the heart of Eastern North
Carolina. Our roots run deep in Wayne County, and we are proud to farm alongside a strong
community of other outstanding growers and producers. We believe in honoring our faith,
supporting our neighbors, and producing the best quality agricultural commodities we can.
Today, it is our pleasure to responsibly produce pigs, cattle, corn, soybeans, produce, and strawberries while preserving the integrity of our land and resources. We believe in sustainably
growing quality food for our neighbors in a community where our roots run deep.

Who we are
Our Farming Family
In the 1930’s, Harrell’s parents married and started their family right here where our strawberry shed is located. They raised pigs, tobacco, cattle, and row crops. Over the years, the farm has had to adapt its operation in order to meet local and global commodity needs, and to survive the constant pressures of nature, markets, and economics. Throughout all the changes and challenges, the one keystone that has remained constant is family. Today, Harrell and his wife, Lorenda, work with their daughter and son-in-law, Ryan and Betsy, and their four children to manage the family farm. When you visit our farm stand, you're likely to see one or many of them there!

What we do
About our Operation
We strive to care for our land using the best practices for sustainable production, preservation, and environmental stewardship. Crop rotation, soil sampling, cover crops, water conservation, and precision planting and applications of fertilizers are just some of the practices we utilize in caring for our land. Corn, soybeans, pigs, produce, cattle, and strawberries are the main commodities we produce, and we pour our heart, soul, and sweat into every acre we produce to ensure it is the best we can offer. Beyond our farm, we believe in the importance of community. We are active in our local community here in Wayne County, and also in the agricultural community regionally, state wide, and nationally! Advocating for American farmers, farmland preservation, and the sustainability of local farms are at the heart of what we do.
